Protesters and activists gather in London to protest at the 42 Days Terrorism Bill proposed by the government who are seeking a minimum 42 days detention period for terrorist suspects detained in the UK under British law. Civil liberty campaigners claim the bill will lead to arbitrary detention and a wholesale 'undermining' of 'presumption of innocence' which underpins the British judicial system. The 42 day terror bill is particularly controversial due to provisions contained within it that allow for punishment outside of the 'normal judicial process'. London, 12th May 2008.
