Anti-war protesters and activists gather in the Strand, London, to hold a protest outside the British Army recruitment office not far from Trafalgar Square. The British Army continue to suffer chronic under-manning and are now understrength in both Afghanistan and Iraq. Many reasons have been cited for the recruitment shortages and army recruiters are now offering £15,000 'loyalty bonus' payments in an attempt to shore up staff retention during the ongoing disastrous misadventure in the Middle East.
