This page contains the names of the dead of Operation Pillar of Defence, an attack against the people of the enclave of Gaza waged by Israeli nationalists between 14th and 21st November 2012. Operation Pillar of Defence killed 165 men, women and children of Gaza along with six Israeli's. During the 20th and 21st November 2012, representatives of the Egyptian and United States governments attempted to impose a truce. Operation Pillar of Defence had been building since the 7th October 2012 after Israeli nationalists using weapons supplied to them by the United States, assassinated a number of Palestinian men they claimed had been involved with attacks against Israeli's going back as far as 2009.

Operation Pillar of Defence was executed using three specific types of military assault strategies carefully combined together; specific targeting of individuals and vehicles in Gaza with wire-guided missiles deployed from Apache helicopter gunships, indiscriminate bombing with large non-directional bombs slung under the bodies of fixed wing aircraft, and finally, general and highly indiscriminate shelling of Gaza using heavy artillery. While a number of Hamas and associated operatives were certainly targeted in Gaza, an equally large number of civilians in Gaza were also deliberately targeted. This is a crime under international law.

The following ten entries document the killing of four children and six adults of the al-Dalou family who died after the four storey building they had been living in was destroyed by an Israeli nationalist F16 aircraft on 18th November 2012. Two neighbours, Ameena a-Miznar (83) and Abdullah Mohammed Al-Mzanner (23) were also killed in the same attack. The four storey building which had been home to the al-Dalou family was completely destroyed by Israeli nationalists on 18th November 2012. Ten members of the al-Dalou family died either during the initial explosion, or as a result of suffocation and crushing as the building collapsed on top of them. Eight members of the family, including four children, were recovered on the 18th and another two adults were recovered the following day. 18th November 2012. Eight shrouded members of the al-Dalou family (four adults and four children) are laid out prior to their funerals. A further two adults are still unacounted for at the time the funeral is held. 19th November 2012.

In order to explain the targeting of journalists by the Israeli nationalists , we have included the following: The following audio segment is a recording made by the BBC's Middle East Bureau Chief Paul Danahar of Avital Leibovich, an Israeli nationalists representative. The recording was made on 18th November in the late morning after reports had surfaced that the Israeli nationalists had attacked two news gathering buildings in Gaza very early in the morning. Six journalists were injured in the attack with one losing a leg to amputation due to blast injuries.
