Dick Cheney Carving up Iraqi Oil Shell HQ. London. 11th October 2008.
Tweet By Terence Bunch, 11th October 2008.
Campaigners gather outside the Shell oil company HQ in London to protest against the contracting of Iraqi oil reserves by US occupation forces in Iraq on behalf of US and British private oil corporations.
They assemble with a large puppet of US Republican Vice President Dick Cheney before marching through London to illustrate the pursuit of oil contracts by the US government.
Mr Cheney stumbles out of Waterloo and through the streets of London chasing an Iraqi oil well, through to Trafalgar Square all the while finding Iraqi oil just out of reach. He finishes his chase outside the US embassy in Grosvenor Square but as he makes one last lunge for control of the well, Iraqi union oil workers beat him in into submission with the Iraqi national flag.
London. 11th October 2008.
US Vice President, Dick Cheney, arrives in London.
He growls and snarls at British oil company, Shell oil.
The chase is on. Hapless Mr Cheney stumbles after an Iraqi oil well, past the Shell HQ and onto the streets of London.
One of Mr Cheneys aids keeps watch over a pesky Iraqi oil worker.
Some time later, Mr Cheney still hasn't quite grasped it.
Mr Cheney, out of breath and running out of steam, stumbles past a branch of the British Northern Rock Bank.
The Veep takes on the Iraqi national flag...and loses.
One last lunge for the Iraqi oil well and Mr Cheney ends up on the floor, face first.
