We are, at this time, rather pleased with the situation in the United States, the people of that country are in a good position internationally, their Government, as you would expect is a complete mess and is haemorrhaging political support and consent among the international community.

I guess that unrequited dictatorial behaviour, the fundamental building block of American stage-managed nationalism, never ever actually goes the American way.

To the U.S. Republican movement particularly, your President is certainly looking like the worst President in U.S. political history. All those generals you keep inviting on your broadcasts have sunk you faster than a concrete brick in seawater. Let me give you an insight into what those generals are actually thinking...well, they don’t like the media, of all the fields I have covered and have experience with over the years there is absolutely no beating the military in the way they despise the media. The jokes they tell each other away from the media, and at the media’s expense, are funny, but I wouldn’t want to actually repeat them in public and in ear-shot of any media worker.

And there you are, happily perched on your TV-sofa insisting that the general you have in front of you actually knows anything more than how to dig a ditch in mud.

Funny, if only you knew.
